The Walker Park Community Garden is the first project of the new Community Garden in the Parks program, an initiative of the City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department.
The City of Fayetteville is leasing Walker Park land to our group, adjacent to the Fayetteville Senior Activity and Wellness Center.
The Garden will accommodate up to thirty 4X4 plots. Gardeners can sign up to tend 1 to 3 plots, individually or with others.
1/4 of the total garden area will be maintained as a group and the produce will be dedicated to homeless shelters, food banks, and area residents in need.
Gardeners will be asked for a $5 maintenance fee per plot, but no one will be turned away for lack of payment.
