Update!

Whew! What a summer we had. It's been too long since I've updated this site! I will be adding pictures, videos, and more details about our great first season here at WPCG.

For the time being, I'll say: exciting things are happening! We are in the midst of planning a huge expansion and revamp of our garden. Stay tuned for more!

If you would like to get involved in this planning, please email walkerparkcommunitygarden@gmail.com

  2. I had a great time getting the garden ready for winter today and it was wonderful to see everyone! The garden looks great and I am really excited about next year. I will be scan in a new plan to propose to the city based on our notes/ideas. I'll post again as soon as it is ready so everyone can take a look and make comments/suggestions. Thanks again everyone for a really nice and productive visit to the garden!

  3. It was a great work day by committed gardeners and the garden soil should be happy with the mulch. I am already excited about deciding what I want to grow next year. Seed catalogs aren't really too far off.

  4. Lisa says Parks will hook us up to water IF we fulfill all of the requirements, I can send that info to anyone interested and January or February are fine.

  6. I did fill out the application and Khalisa agreed to be second person of contact with the City. Thanks Khalisa! Lisa asked if we were still meeting and I said hopefully in the new year so we can hook some people at seed catalog time.. I sure hope to grow the heirloom beans I grew last year. I have you some seeds Khalisa.

  12. Can/will some one update this Blog? The header (?) says UPDATE September 2011.

If we don't get a fence we won't have a garden. IF we ever had a successful garden we might really help the community. I still envision people who need to being able to grow there own.
